Peter Gassner

Founder and CEO

Peter Gassner is the visionary behind Veeva, one of the world’s most successful and innovative cloud software companies. He pioneered the industry cloud category when he founded Veeva in 2007 with the belief that vertical cloud software would be the next wave of cloud innovation. Today, Veeva helps more than 1,000 life sciences companies bring new medicines and treatments to patients faster.

With more than 30 years experience at leading technology companies, Peter has been at the forefront of every major transition in enterprise software, from the mainframe at IBM Silicon Valley Lab, to client-server at PeopleSoft, the cloud at Salesforce, and industry cloud software at Veeva. He was a key visionary force behind three of the industry’s most successful enterprise application platforms: Veeva Vault, the Salesforce Platform, and PeopleTools.

Peter is an advocate for corporate social responsibility, customer success, and employee success. Driven by a belief that companies have a duty to serve society, not just shareholders, he led the effort for Veeva to become a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC). With a focus on employee rights he has taken a strong stand against non-compete agreements which restrict employees’ basic freedom to change jobs.

Through his leadership, Veeva has been widely recognized as one of the world’s top growth companies, including the Fortune Future 50, Forbes Fast Tech 25, and Fortune 100 Fastest-Growing Companies.

Peter currently serves on the board of directors of Veeva and Zoom, and served on the board of directors of Guidewire Software from 2015 to 2019. He holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Oregon State University.

Tom Schwenger

President and Chief Customer Officer

Tom Schwenger is president and chief customer officer, responsible for field functions including sales and services. With more than 30 years of life sciences industry expertise, Tom has built high performing teams driving strategy and technology transformations for many of the world’s top pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies.

Prior to Veeva, Tom dedicated most of his career to helping companies advance how medical treatments are discovered, developed, and delivered to patients around the world. He was previously responsible for Accenture’s Northeast Products Industries Practice, which included life sciences and related industries. Before that, he led the growth of Accenture’s North American Life Sciences Practice.

Tom received his bachelor of science degree in business and statistics from Penn State University.

Asaf Evenhaim

CEO, Veeva Crossix

Asaf Evenhaim is CEO of Veeva Crossix, delivering best-in-class solutions to help health brands maximize marketing effectiveness. Asaf also oversees the development of SafeMine, our privacy-preserving patient de-identification technology and the data network that powers Veeva Compass and Veeva Crossix.

Asaf co-founded Crossix in 2005 and led the company to become the industry's leader in marketing analytics through the Veeva acquisition of Crossix in 2019. Asaf has been inducted to the DTC Hall of Fame, named to the PharmaVOICE 100 most influential people in the life sciences industry, selected as a DTC Innovator of the Year and is a PM360 ELITE honoree. Before founding Crossix, he was the co-founder and president of SoftWatch, a healthcare CRM provider. Asaf also served as acting CEO for Dietwatch.com, an online subscription weight loss company spun off from SoftWatch.

Asaf served for four years in the Israeli Navy Intelligence Unit, and he holds a B.S. in mathematics and computer science from Tel Aviv University.

Brian Van Wagener

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Brian Van Wagener is Veeva’s CFO, responsible for finance, accounting, legal, investor relations, and treasury. He worked in various Veeva roles for over five years including chief of staff to the CEO and vice president of global sales operations.

Brian was previously senior vice president of go-to-market strategy and operations at BetterUp. Prior he held several executive leadership positions at Frontier Communications including transformation, FP&A, customer experience, and advanced analytics, guiding the company through its budget process, quarterly earnings, and significant acquisitions. Earlier in his career he was a senior engagement leader at Monitor Deloitte working with healthcare and life sciences companies.

Brian graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Dartmouth College and a master of business administration (MBA) degree from Northwestern University School of Management.

Nitsa Zuppas

President and Chief of Staff

In her role as president and chief of staff, Nitsa Zuppas helps set, communicate, and execute company direction. Prior to assuming the role of president, Nitsa served as Veeva’s chief marketing officer from 2013 to 2024 – through its IPO and growth to become the industry cloud leader. Nitsa has more than 30 years of marketing and technology experience, with particular expertise in enterprise software and establishing category and market leadership. Nitsa also chairs the Veeva Women’s Community.

Prior to joining Veeva, Nitsa was a senior executive at First Virtual Group, where she led marketing across the company's diverse lines of business. She also managed the Siebel Foundation, operating programs such as the Meth Project, Siebel Scholars, and the Siebel Stem Cell Institute. The public education campaigns she created for the Meth Project helped reduce methamphetamine use in Arizona, Montana, and Idaho. Under Nitsa's leadership, the foundation was named the third most effective philanthropy in the world by Barron's magazine and received a White House commendation.

Before that, Nitsa spent eight years at Siebel Systems, where she held leadership positions in corporate marketing and product marketing. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from California State University.

Howie Hsueh

Senior Vice President, Global Services

As senior vice president of global services, Howie Hsueh is responsible for ensuring customer success globally and leading Veeva's professional services, customer success, and product support teams. He also serves as the chair of the Veeva Asian Community.

Howie has nearly 20 years of life sciences software and services experience. He joined Veeva in 2012 to lead some of the first Vault implementations, before building the professional services organization for Veeva's Development Cloud over the past decade. Prior to Veeva, Howie spent eight years in various leadership roles providing regulatory consulting and software services to help companies transform their electronic submissions processes.

Howie holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Rutgers University.

Greg Larson

Senior Vice President, Global Commercial Services

Greg Larson serves as the senior vice president of Global Commercial Services. He is responsible for leading Veeva's services teams and ensuring customer success for Commercial Cloud across North America and Europe.

Prior to joining Veeva, Greg spent nearly 15 years in leadership roles at Epic Systems, building high-performing teams and driving technology transformations in healthcare worldwide.

Greg holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Washington University, where he was a captain and all-conference football player.

Vivian Welsh

Chief People Officer

Vivian leads global employee success for Veeva and is responsible for ensuring that our people processes and culture scale well as we continue to grow. Vivian leads the company’s efforts to attract, develop and retain the best talent. Vivian pioneered Veeva’s new university graduate development programs which span across the engineering, services and sales functions. She re-invented Veeva’s talent attraction model for experienced hires. Vivian is dedicated to bringing great people to Veeva and has a strong passion that they have a great experience and career at Veeva.

Vivian has been in the software industry for nearly 20 years since starting her career at PeopleSoft. She has a software implementation and project management background with strong functional and technical product experience. She has held various leadership roles and has experience building and managing both small and large high-performing teams.

Vivian holds a bachelor of business administration degree in management information systems from Florida International University.

Catherine Allshouse

Executive Vice President, Internal Operations

Catherine serves as the executive vice president of internal operations at Veeva. She leads Veeva's CIO, CISO, Quality & Compliance, Technical Operations, and Facilities & Workplace teams, and coordinates across Finance, Legal, and Employee Success. Catherine has extensive experience in roles spanning the commercial and industrial software business, from strategy through delivery, and has led both technology and business operations.

Previously, Catherine served as COO, CIO and Secretary at the KnowledgeWorks Foundation, an organization focused on equity in public education across America. Catherine’s team developed a large SaaS LMS as well as data technology that analyzed national education and community data. Catherine also led the foundation’s board of directors, HR, and legal departments. Before that, Catherine was responsible for the software engineering division at the Kroger Company.

Prior to Kroger, Catherine served as President and CTO of a SaaS business that provided internet search, shopping, and advertising solutions to US media companies. She also spent 12 years at PeopleSoft, Inc. in various executive roles.

Catherine currently serves on the board of directors of Boulder, CO software company Stateless.

Josh Faddis

Senior Vice President, General Counsel

Josh Faddis manages and oversees all aspects of the legal function at Veeva, including commercial contracting, IP management, litigation management, governance and compliance, and corporate citizenship. He has over 20 years of experience, including nearly 20 years managing legal needs for cloud software companies from early growth stages to maturity as multi-billion dollar public companies.

Prior to joining Veeva, Josh was senior vice president and general counsel at Taleo, where he oversaw all aspects of the legal function as the company grew from $12 million to $325 million in annual revenues. He was instrumental in the development of Taleo's software-as-a-service business model, completion of the company's initial public offering in 2005, closing of nine acquisitions, and Taleo's eventual sale for $2.1 billion. Before that, he conducted IP and business litigation at Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP and served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Justice Craig Enoch, Supreme Court of the State of Texas.

Josh received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his bachelor of arts degree from Texas A&M University.

Laura Moran

President, Global Commercial

Laura Moran is president overseeing commercial sales teams and solution consultants, excluding Asia. She brings nearly 30 years of global work experience in a range of industries, including over 20 years in life sciences.

Prior to joining Veeva, Laura was a partner in McKinsey & Company’s pharmaceutical and medical products practice. There she held global and US leadership roles across various service lines of the pharmaceutical commercialization practice and in McKinsey’s digital, data and advanced analytics practice. Her client service focused on several of the top global pharmacos, and included topics ranging from corporate strategy to digital excellence. Prior to her 15 years at McKinsey, Laura worked in other leading professional services organizations including Bain & Company and PricewaterhouseCoopers and has lived and worked in Europe, US and Asia. Laura earned her masters of business administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College.

Erik Smith

Senior Vice President, Global R&D and Quality

Erik Smith is responsible for global R&D and Quality sales and customer success. He joined Veeva over ten years ago to build the R&D and Quality sales program, working with emerging and large enterprise biopharma companies. Prior, Erik served in sales leadership at NextDocs Corporation and US Data Management. He started his career at Abbott Diagnostics and followed with over 20 years of sales executive roles in life sciences.

He earned his bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University, where he played baseball.

Dan Rizzo

Vice President, Global Business Consulting

Dan Rizzo is the head of global business consulting, working with customers to solve business problems in life sciences across Commercial, R&D, Medical, and Medtech. With a deep understanding of Veeva products and access to unique industry data and insights, Dan leads a team focused on customer success.

Dan previously held various leadership roles in the life sciences sector at EY and before that was on the strategy development team at Eli Lilly and Company. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Marist College.

Chris Moore

President, Europe

Chris joined Veeva in 2018 as President of Veeva Europe to enable the European team to establish Veeva as the cloud platform of choice for the Life Sciences industry for its R&D and Commercial activities.

A 33-year veteran of the life sciences industry, Chris started his career at ICI Pharmaceuticals (now AstraZeneca). Chris then joined a start-up called Kinesis, building a team delivering document management solutions for pharmaceutical companies. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, Kinesis ultimately became PwC; Chris made partner with PwC in 2001. Chris went on to run both European and US (West Coast) life sciences business for IBM before leading the IBM global life sciences consulting Business Analytics and Optimization unit. Most recently, he was the lead partner for life sciences for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at EY.

Chris holds a bachelor of science degree in information technology from the University of Salford.

Damian Kelly

General Manager, Asia and General Manager, Japan

Damian has over 20 years of enterprise software and life sciences experience. He joined Veeva in 2012 as the first consultant on the vault platform and since has led teams in North America, APAC and China and Japan. He established the customer success function in APAC as well as launching the services teams in Korea and India.

Prior to Veeva Damian worked at the United Nations as they established their Knowledge Management function, IBM New York in their life sciences division and PwC Australia. He has a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Engineerings from Melbourne Australia.

Tim Ding

General Manager, China

Tim Ding is responsible for growing Veeva Commercial business in China. He has 21 years' experience working in the enterprise software and services industry.

Before joining Veeva, Tim was Managing Partner for the China business of Delaware International, a global consulting firm, where he focused on the China life science industry sector. Tim grew the business from 10 to 200, opening offices and building teams over 10 years in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Beijing, Suzhou and Harbin. In the Life Sciences sector, he helped drive digital transformation for top tier biotech and bio pharma companies.

Tim began his career in SAP, where he held various technical and managerial positions over 10 years including Basis team lead and SAP migration program lead. Tim also built the first SAP Solution Extension sales team in China.

Adriano Vieira

General Manager, Latin America

Adriano Vieira is Veeva's general manager for Latin America and is responsible for all its operations including sales, marketing, customer success, and professional services. He has over 21 years of experience working as a provider and partner to life sciences companies in the areas of CRM, customer master data, and marketing services.

Before joining Veeva in 2013, Adriano held several positions at Dendrite and then at Cegedim, including 11 years in general management in Mexico and Brazil. During this period, he helped kick off and grow the business in Latin America. He started with Brazil, revamped operations in Mexico, and merged the two companies, launching several products while leading teams of up to 130 people.

Prior to Dendrite, Adriano held technical and managerial positions in enterprise software and semiconductor manufacturing companies.

Adriano graduated in electrical engineering from the Catholic Pontifical University of Minas Gerais in Brazil and holds a master's degree in microelectronics from Campinas University, also in Brazil.

Pinal Patel

Chief Information Officer

Pinal serves as the Chief Information Officer for Veeva. He is responsible for the global IT organization and leads the company’s internal digital transformation to support growth and scale. Pinal has a customer-first approach providing a seamless employee experience to all Veevans.

Before Veeva, Pinal served in various leadership roles in technology consulting, providing software strategy and services to large firms on cloud transformation.

Pinal graduated from the Ohio State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Dan Martin

CHIEF INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER

Dan Martin is Veeva’s CISO, responsible for all aspects of global cyber and technology security and compliance across Veeva products, policy, and operations. He has spent five years at Veeva overseeing security engineering and as a security architect.

Dan has 20 years of IT experience as a security manager for Ascena Retail Group, and a quality assurance manager and engineer for Juniper Network and Pulse Secure. Early in his career he held engineering roles at Sophos, Endforce, and SmartPipes.

Dan earned his bachelor of science in computer science and engineering degree from Ohio State University.

Jacques Mourrain, PhD

Vice President, Quality Regulatory, and Compliance

Jacques Mourrain began his biopharma career some 20 years ago developing control system applications for pharmaceutical freeze-drying. After a brief stint as a solo validation consultant, he joined Fluor Daniel, as the director of validation, where he was responsible for multiple projects in biopharmaceutical facility validation, including the qualification of clean utilities, process equipment, process automation, and enterprise information systems.

Right after Y2K, he joined Genentech to lead the software quality assurance group within medical affairs. In 2002, Dr. Mourrain founded the GxP Computer System Compliance function at Genentech, a group responsible for IT compliance across the regulated landscape. In this role he led multiple initiatives, including 21CFR Part 11 remediation and Oliver Wight Class A process optimization.

Jacques has extensive knowledge of software development best practices, validation principles, and quality systems used in an FDA/EMA regulated environment. He is an established thought leader in the area of computer systems compliance, validation, and auditing. He has presented at diverse venues such as DIA, ISPE and PDA conferences and has published on a range of topics from compliance auditing, change control, cost-of-quality, and computer systems validation.
