Cardinal Health is a distributor of pharmaceuticals, a global manufacturer and distributor of medical and laboratory products, and a provider of performance and data solutions for healthcare facilities. As a crucial link between the clinical and operational sides of healthcare, Cardinal Health delivers end-to-end solutions and data-driven insights that advance healthcare and improve lives every day.
In an effort to transform how Cardinal Health approaches quality management for its essential healthcare products and services, the company recently partnered with Veeva Systems to leverage Veeva Vault Quality Suite and modernize its global quality operations on a single cloud platform. This will enable Cardinal Health to establish a unified enterprise-wide quality management system (QMS) that centralizes processes and data for proactive insights across its pharmaceutical and medical businesses.
“At Cardinal Health, we know that at the end of every product and service is a patient, which drives our passion for the highest product quality, safety, and integrity,” said Steve C de Baca, executive vice president, global quality and regulatory affairs at Cardinal Health. “With Veeva MedTech solutions, we will have the scalability to bring together our global teams on one platform and identify, stop, and prevent product or process issues before they happen, enabling business efficiencies and improving customer experiences.”
Cardinal Health, a global company with approximately 46,500 employees in more than 30 countries, will implement Vault Quality Suite for greater process consistency and visibility. The company will use Veeva Vault QMS to manage all quality processes across its pharmaceutical and medical device businesses, Veeva Vault QualityDocs to drive compliant quality practices, and Veeva Vault Product Surveillance to streamline complaint handling and risk monitoring. These applications deliver the flexibility for real-time external collaboration with suppliers, supporting Cardinal Health’s supplier quality management (SQM) process to improve product reliability and compliance.
With a connected quality system across its global operations, Cardinal Health will further simplify its IT infrastructure while delivering access to real-time data.
“Veeva Vault Quality Suite will help our team adapt to ever-evolving industry regulations faster, preventing product and process disruptions and maintaining the highest quality standards,” said Matt Stroop, vice president, global technology and business services at Cardinal Health. “The depth and scalability of Veeva MedTech’s technology, along with its deep industry experience and proven track record of customer success, made it the ideal partner to support our digital transformation for our quality processes.” “An industry innovator, Cardinal Health is advancing healthcare by addressing complex problems in new ways,” said Seth Goldenberg, vice president, Veeva MedTech. “We’re excited to collaborate to modernize quality management and drive advancements in technology and processes to get products to their customers and patients faster.”
